The challenge was to overcome the seasonal consumer pattern for dates and date related products in Malaysia. Aswadan being a date farm in Madinah were facing problems with leftover stock in their cold rooms due to the seasonal sales, predominantly Ramadhan and Eid associated.

Ajwa dates, being the core primary fruit that the farm cultivates, is not something that consumers are used to seeing being made into chocolates. It was a bold move by Aswadan introducing Date Choc into the market and they required a visual identity for the product.
